COACH TROUT'S BLOG SPACE
"Do Things The Right Way Or Don't Do Them At All"
Thank you for checking out my blog. My name is Randall Trout - everyone calls me Coach Trout. I have been coaching youth sports for 25+ years, it's not a job, it's not a hobby, it's a passion for me. Through this blog I will share some of my thoughts on the current state of the game, where I think it's headed, where I think it should head, and I'll also be writing about my current coaching experience with my 10 (soon to be 11) year old son . My hope for sharing these things is to help grow the knowledge of the game and help younger less experienced coaches shorten their learning curves.
ABOUT ME
My coaching career has now spanned 29 years. I have been the head coach or assistant coach for teams at all age groups of baseball and fastpitch softball from 5 years old up to 18 years old. I've coached kids that literally have never played the game before up to elite Division I and future pro athletes so to say my experience is vast and varied is an understatement. I hope through this blog I can share those experiences and help it's readers grow in their development and extend what I call "my coaching tree".
